Opening Reception & Lecture by Barrie Scardino Bradley presented by Friends of the Texas Room

Join us for a reception and lecture sponsored by the Friends of the Texas Room at the Houston Public Library’s Central Branch downtown celebrating the opening of the Hermann Park Centennial Exhibition at the Julia Ideson Library. The reception, exhibition viewing, and book signing will begin at 6 p.m. and will be followed by a talk by Barrie Scardino Bradley, author of Houston’s Hermann Park: A Century of Community. The talk will take place in the first floor auditorium of the library’s Julia Ideson Building, 550 McKinney Avenue. The exhibition on the history of Hermann Park will be on view upstairs in the library’s Tudor Gallery.

The event and exhibition are free and open to the public. Parking is available underneath the adjacent Jones Building accessed from Lamar Avenue, or on the street. Vouchers for parking in the library’s garage will be available at the lecture.
